DAPDNA Ethernet Platform

 

  Many applications running on Ethernet networks collect data at the edges and have a centrally located processing unit for massive amounts of data-processing.  However, due to increasing amount of data collected at the edges, computing limitation of central processing unit, as well as data transfer capacity, are becoming bottlenecks.  The DAPDNA Ethernet Platform provides solution in such applications by introducing efficient distributed data processing.  This platform is built on an open architecture, utilizing axLinux embedded operating system, and DAPDNA-2 processors with its highly flexible parallel and pipelined data processing.

 

  The DAPDNA Ethernet Platform combines necessary components such as Ethernet I/F and axLinux OS with a compact board, and has support for most common interfaces.  Users can concentrate on algorithm development, greatly reducing the product development cycle.


  DAPDNA-EP100

  The DAPDNA-EP100 board is the core of the DAPDNA Ethernet Platform.  This board includes a DAPDNA-2 Dynamically Reconfigurable Processor and a MicroDIMM socket, and supports 10/100BaseT Ethernet.  Support for the axLinux embedded OS provides an open architecture, allowing developers to use highly general device drivers and middleware, thus improving software productivity and maintainability.

   EP-CLM1

  The EP-CLM1 board provides CameraLink interface.  Connecting this board to the
DAPDNA-EP100 allows the implementation of efficient parallel processing systems with CameraLink interfaces, such as image processing equipment, image inspection equipment, security equipment, and machine vision equipment.

  An example system configuration based on the combination of the DAPDNA-EP100 and
EP-CLM1.


  Connecting the EP-CLM1 board with its CameraLink interface to the DAPDNA-EP100, large amounts of data are processed real-time at the edge of the network.  Transferring only the processed result over the Ethernet to a central processing unit is the key to an efficient distributed processing system, reducing the load on the network as well as on the central processing unit.
