DAPDNA-FW II is an integrated development environment for DAPDNA dynamic reconfigurable processor.

DAPDNA-FW II is a high-performance toolset which covers all application development processes for DAPDNA processors, from algorithm design to actual device implementation. It improves design productivity, and enables application development with a dramatically shorter TAT.

Software to Silicon concept

The integrated development environment for the DAPDNA dynamically reconfigurable processor is designed around the concept of "Software to Silicon." The Software to Silicon concept enables engineers without hardware design knowledge to develop an application using a high-level language and have it seamlessly implemented as hardware.  
This quantum leap in design productivity becomes the basis for a product design environment that allows shorter design cycles and timely implementation of modifications to meet customer needs and the rapidly changing market.



  Support for a wide variety of development methodologies

DAPDNA-FW II environment supports three different design methodologies, giving the designer a flexibility to choose the most appropriate design method.

  Data Flow C (DFC) Compile

DDAPDNA-FW II makes it possible to use the C programming language to directly create code for the dynamically reconfigurable processor.  Unlike designing an application based on FPGAs where hardware engineers must develop the application using hardware description language (HDL), a designer can create code directly using the C programming language using the DFC compiler, dramatically reducing the development time.




  DNA Designer

This GUI-based development environment allows the designer to drag-and-drop representations of the DAPDNA Processing Elements (PEs), supporting graphical construction of processing algorithms. This can greatly increase design productivity.





Improvement in design productivity


To maximize the performance of the powerful, flexible DAPDNA-2 and further increase design productivity, DNA Designer also includes a host of tools such as a waveform viewer, timing chart viewer, memory viewer, resource manager, and power consumption viewer.
A rich library of functions is also included, improving design productivity even more.


  Debugging Box

By using DAPDNA-DB or DAPDNA-DBU debugging box for designing applications, developers can find and solve problems in the early stage.
