IPFlex Welcomes Nippon System Kaihatsu, Meico Denshi, and YDK to DAPDNA VAR Program

Expanding the Offering Range of DAPDNA Solutions in Consumer Electronics, Data
Communications, Mechatronics, and Industrial Equipment Fields

IPFlex Inc. announced today the addition of three new companies to the IPFlex DAPDNA* VAR (Value Added Reseller) program: Nippon System Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. (NSK), Meico Denshi Co., Ltd., and YDK Technologies Company, an in-house company of YDK Co., Ltd.

IPFlex will work closely with the three new members and focus on offering optimal solutions in consumer electronics, telecommunications, mechatronics, and industrial equipment to enable customers to bring their products to market quickly.

IPFlex will steadily expand the number of members in the DAPDNA VAR program to further improve convenience in customer application development, while proactively supporting the business of its partners.

NSK engages in many types of system development in the fields of communications, networking, and control, having earned a high degree of trust from its customers.  YDK is a company that delivers comprehensive solutions ranging from product development to manufacturing testing, and boasts a wealth of experience in the fields of data communications equipment, mechatronics, and systems-on-chip design services.  NSK and YDK will receive orders for developing applications that take advantage of features of the DAPDNA dynamically reconfigurable architecture** such as flexibility and high performance.

Meico Denshi will primarily propose solutions to a large number of developers in the data communications equipment, networking, and industrial equipment fields.  Meico combines its own products and DAPDNA technology, taking advantage of characteristics such as advanced processing power and flexibility.

The DAPDNA VAR program is one in which IPFlex and program members cooperate with the goal of providing customers with optimal solution using DAPDNA products and services.
As a part of the DAPDNA VAR program, IPFlex will host the DAPDNA Technical Solutions Seminar on February 3, 2006. This seminar will introduce design methods that use DFC (Data Flow C) with significantly improved functionalities to be included in the soon to be released DAPDNA-FW II v2.6.  The latest information on the new product and design examples from VAR partners will also be showcased.  Please visit the web site listed below for more details.

About the DAPDNA VAR (Value Added Reseller) Program

The goal of the DAPDNA VAR program is for IPFlex and program members to offer unprecedented value to customers in various application areas by leveraging DAPDNA architecture.  IPFlex and its DAPDNA VAR partners combine their strengths to deliver optimal solutions to customers for their application development needs.

About the DAPDNA-2*** Dynamically Reconfigurable Processor

DAPDNA-2 is a dual-core processor, comprised of a high-performance RISC processor core, called the DAP, and the dynamically reconfigurable core, DNA, a two-dimensional array of 376 processing elements (PEs).  DAPDNA-2 can change its hardware configuration to provide the optimal circuitry for an application on demand.  This configuration change can take place not only when the system is designed, but also during operation, dynamically, in a single clock cycle****, to meet the instantaneous change in needs of applications implemented by the system.

  Terminology

* DAPDNA: Digital Application Processor, Distributed Network Architecture.
** Dynamically Reconfigurable Processor: A processor capable of changing chip circuitry dynamically.
*** DAPDNA-2: Product name of dynamically reconfigurable processor from IPFlex.
**** a single clock cycle: One clock switching operation is possible by creating configuration information beforehand and storing in the background configuration banks.
